Are you looking for an engaging way for students to practice classifying matter? This ECM Pixel Art includes 15 problems for classifying matter as elements, compounds or mixtures. Students are provided with either a diagram, a sample, or an element or compound formula. The classifications that students should be familiar with include:

  • pure elements

  • pure compounds

  • mixture of elements

  • mixture of compounds

  • mixture of elements and compounds

As students enter the correct classification, colors will appear on the right side of the sheet. Once all problems are answered correctly, an entire image appears!

This resource can be used for distance learning, or as guided practice after in-class instruction, or for review.  Both you and your students must have a Google account and access to the internet to use this resource.  

This resource includes both the student Google Sheet document and the Key.
