Give your students more practice with half life calculations with these self-checking and partner checking worksheets. Students will calculate:
total time elapsed
half-life for an isotope
mass remaining after a sample has decayed (or percent remaining)
original mass of a decayed sample
The self-checking worksheet contains 6 half-life calculation problems where the answers are all the same. Students will know immediately if they do not complete the problem correctly as the answer will not match the rest.
The partner check worksheet contains a Student A side and a Student B side, each with 5 problems. The answer to problem 1 will be the same for each student, even though their problems are different. The answer to problem 2 for each student will be the same, and so on. This allows students to check their work as they go with a partner.
This resource includes 2 worksheets, with 5 problems on the partner check and 6 problems on the self-check that contain half-life problems.
