Chemistry Limiting Reactant Theoretical Yield Spinner Game Partner Activity
This partner activity makes for great practice determining the limiting reactant in chemistry! Students will spin 2 wheels (spinners not included) to get mole amounts of both reactants (A and B). Students determine the limiting reactant using those two mole amounts.
If the student correctly identifies the limiting reactant, the student moves forward on the game board. The student gets an additional move forward if they can determine the theoretical yield of the product. If the student incorrectly identifies the limiting reactant, the student has to move backward on the game board. Students will take turns spinning the wheels and moving their game piece until one student gets to the finish space on the game board.
This spinner game board/activity includes identifying the limiting reagent of a chemical reaction, as well as determining the theoretical yield of the product.
This resource contains two versions of the game board. The first level contains a reaction with simpler coefficients, as well as fewer option choices on each wheel for moles of A and B. The second level contains a reaction with more difficult coefficients, as well as more mole options for A and B on each wheel.
This resource comes in a printable pdf, in both color and an ink-saving version. Each mat will need spinners and markers/bingo chips/game pieces, which are not included. A key with all possible combinations is also included.
