Chemistry Mixed Chemical Names and Formulas Task Cards

$2.00

Do your students need more practice with chemical names and formulas? This resource includes 30 names and formula task cards, which can be printed and used in a variety of applications for students to practice their learning. Students can practice naming compounds from formulas, or writing the formula from the name.

Task cards include:

  • main group elements

  • transition metals

  • polyatomics

  • both ionic and covalent compounds

This resource includes a printable pdf which contains 30 task cards. The task cards can be printed single-sided, or double-sided if you wish to include the answer on the back for students to check. There are two versions included: a color version and an ink-saving version.

Once printed, you could use these task cards in a variety of structures for students to practice identifying types of chemical reactions. For example, the task cards could be used in stations, as entry or exit tickets, or as task cards in a friendly game of Jenga or Connect Four! The possibilities are endless! Personally, I use these task cards in a Quiz-Quiz-Trade structure. If you need ideas for task cards, check out my blog post with 9 ideas for task cards in the chemistry classroom.
