Want an engaging activity for students to practice determining the oxidation number of an atom in a molecule or ion? Try this game of Oxidation Numbers WAR! In this game of WAR, students in a pair will compare the S atom in two molecules or ions. The student with the card that contains the greatest oxidation number for S would win the round! Play continues until one student has collected all the cards or until you call time, in which case they can determine who has the most cards at the end.
This printable activity comes with two versions of the cards, one in complete color and the other in an ink-saving version.
