Chemistry Significant Figures Pixel Art in a Self-Checking Google Sheet

$3.00

This significant figures pixel art is a great, self-checking assignment for students to practice sig figs. In this self-checking Google Sheet, students will practice the following related to significant figures in chemistry:

  • Determining the number of significant figures in a number

  • Rounding a given number to a certain number of sig figs

  • Using the addition/subtraction and multiplication/division sig fig rules in calculations

This resource can be used for distance learning, or as guided practice after in-class instruction, or for review.  Both you and your students must have a Google account and access to the internet to use this resource.

This resource contains a Google Sheet with 15 significant figure problems. Some ask students to simply determine how many significant figures are in a number. Other problems ask students to round a given number to a certain number of significant figures. Lastly, there are calculation problems which require the student to perform the calculation and report the answer with the appropriate number of significant figures, including one dimensional analysis problem.

As students enter a numerical answer, colors will pop up to the right side. This allows for students to self-check as they complete the problems. If the numerical answer is incorrect, no colors will appear. Once all problems are correct, there will be a complete picture in the Sheet.

This resource includes both the student Google Sheet document and the Key.
