Want an engaging activity for students to practice identifying whether a formula is an ionic or covalent compound? Try this engaging game of SNAP! One player places down a card, and the next player in the circle does the same. Players take turns laying down cards until one player recognizes a match-in this case, two ionic compounds or two covalent compounds. Play continues until one student has collected all the cards or until you call time, in which case they can determine who has the most cards at the end.
This printable activity comes with two versions of the cards, one in complete color and the other in an ink-saving version.
